The apocalypse looks to be nigh here in Sonoma County this past week; if we had volcanoes and earthquakes, I’d be high-tailing it to higher ground, as would a number of neighbors and friends I know. But instead, we’ll wait out the pandemic, the smoke, and the politics with music from the heartland and, this week anyway, a healthy dose from the seventies southland. Surely Americana. New music this week includes a track from The Jayhawks’ latest XOXO, Mike McClure, Brennen Leigh, and Victoria Bailey….fresh sounds on a Thursday morning. Vintage tracks include a timely track from The David Thom Band, the Eagles, The Byrds, and Joni Mitchell. I’ve also got a new track from Chris Smithers to share on this September morning in late summer. Tune in this week here on KOWS Community Radio, 92.5 FM or streaming to the world at kowsfm.com/listen.
